Project description: At the beginning of 2023, a new Space Exploration Centre building was commissioned in Cēsis, at Cīrulīšu Street 63, known for its sustainable and energy-efficient construction. The Space Exploration Centre is designed as a unique regional center for education and innovation, aimed at attracting students, teachers, and families, encouraging interest in natural sciences and technology. The building is designed with low energy consumption (15 kWh/m2 per year) and is equipped with heat pumps, pellet heating boilers, and solar panels, ensuring self-sufficient energy production. The building has underground tanks constructed next to it, which treat rainwater for reuse. Smart management and control systems optimize electricity and heat consumption, ensuring sustainable operation. A parking lot with 53 spaces and electric vehicle charging stations has been created next to the building. The Space Exploration Centre has three floors, each designated for specific activities and exhibitions. The exhibitions will generate curiosity about science, promote technological thinking, and provide an interactive, engaging experience for visitors of all ages. The building’s sustainable solutions and modern technologies demonstrate that it is possible to create an energy-efficient building that meets the demands of future infrastructure.
