Project description: Within the framework of the project, a unique energy structure was created – the first solar energy plant in the Baltics. In total, 1,720 solar collector units have been installed on an area of 22,000 m2 on 6.5 hectares, as well as a 30 m high storage tank, which will produce approximately 12,000 MWh of heat per year. The tank accumulates the solar heat received during the day, which will be injected into the city's main networks as needed. In addition, by increasing the use of renewable energy resources, a new wood chip boiler house was also built. The project won the Grand Prix award in the competition “Latvian Construction of the Year Award 2019”.
