Project description: After an ambitious reconstruction lasting almost two years, the “Sigulda Devon” culture centre was opened on 14 September 2018. The renovated culture centre has gained a breath of fresh air and special energy – it has become more spacious, the most up-to-date and modern, it is equipped with a building management system, with the help of which it is possible to regulate energy consumption according to the need, thus significantly increasing the energy efficiency level of the building. The decorative panels used in the façades of the culture centre building with the pattern print of sandstone outcrops from Velnala cliffs make them truly unique and unrepeatable. Also, within the framework of the reconstruction of the Sigulda Culture Centre, the improvement of the territory, the construction of paths and squares was carried out, giving the special façades of the building an appropriate and tidy overview. Currently, the cultural centre in Sigulda has become a place where world-class concerts and events can be organized in the future with the confidence of a high-quality result. Within the framework of the competition “Latvian Construction of the Year Award 2018”, the reconstruction facility of the Sigulda Culture Centre was awarded the 2nd place in the nomination “Reconstruction”.
